Deramed Night Splint Bunion Corrector

Description

This night splint bunion corrector is a plastic splint that holds the foot in the correct position during the night. It works to sooths pain by pulling the joint outwards, realigning the big toe and preventing possible worsening. Traction must be carried out so that correction of the toe deformity is visible. Placement is most effective when the base of the big toe experiences a slight pain when pushed. The night splint follows the principle of preventive bindings (prolonged, low-intensity action) through which progressive improvement is achieved without damage. Maneuvering of the foot should not be forced in such a way that pain prevents one from resting properly. The curve of the splint matches the curve of the instep of the foot (as with footwear).
